SODA: THE LIQUID ANNIHILATOR
The nation's three major beverage manufacturers are now spending large sums to increase the amount of soda that American children consume. Coca-Cola, Pepsi, and Cadbury-Schweppes (the maker of Dr. Pepper) control 90.3% of the US. market, but have been hurt by declining sales in Asia. Americans already drink soda at an annual rate of about 56 gallons per person — that's nearly 600 12 ounce cans of soda per person. Coca-Cola has set itself the goal of raising consumption of it sproducts in the United States by at least 25% a year. The adult market is stagnant; selling more soda to kids has become one of the easiest ways to meet sales projections. "Influencing elementary school students is very important to soft drink marketers," and article in the January 1999 issue of Beverage Industry explained, "because children are still establishing their tastes and habits." Eight-year olds are considered ideal customers they have about 65 years of purchasing in front of them. "Entering the schools makes perfect sense," the trade journal concluded. The fast food chains also benefit enormously when children drink more soda. The chicken nuggets, hamburgers, and othe rmain courses sold usually have the lowest profit margins...Today McDonald's sells more Coca-Cola than anyone else in the world..."Liquid Candy," a 1999 study by the Center for Science in the Public Interest, describes who is not benefitting from the beverage industry's latest marketing efforts: the nation's children. In 1978, the typical teenage boy in the United States drank about 7 ounces of soda every day; today he drinks nearly three times that amount, deriving 9% of his daily caloric intake from soft drinks. Soda consumption among teenaged girls has doubled within the same period, reaching an average of 12 ounces a day. A significant number of teenage boys are now drinking 5 or more cans of soda every day. Each can contains the equivalent of about 10 teaspoons of sugar. Coke, Pepsi, Mountain Dew, and Dr. Pepper also contain caffeine. These sodas provide empty calories and have replaced far more nutritious beverages in the American diet. Excessive soda consumption in childhood can lead to calcium deficiencies and a greater likelihood of bone fractures. I'd like to further add that not only does drinking soda lead to bone fractures, it leadz to osteoperosis. So it makes me wonder Y they also call soda "soft" drinks. How could somethin' so "soft" penetrate and breakdown somethin' so hard like your bones?!!? (excerpt taken from Fast Food Nation, by Eric Schlosser)

YOU SURE YOU A VEGETARIAN??
Most vegetarianz go by the phrase, "you are what you eat," thus leadin' them to give meat up, or so they think. See, the food industry is aware that there is a growing concern and consciousness of the food we eat. Back in the 70s, all these organic food co-op's started poppin' up. Today, after many decided to leave the cannibalistic life of eatin' decayed flesh and poisonous preservatives, we find the very same remnants in the hundredz of different processed "organic" foodz that are now for sale. "It's like they makin' it so you can't eat right," said a shopper to DGT. We vegetarianz who no longer want anything to do with the meat family must become more aware of what a "vegan" is. If you must eat processed food, please educate yourself on some of the deadly ingredients they put in the food you buy. Ever look on the back of veggie burgerz and sausage patties made by Morningstar Farms? The first thing that should hit you is that they use egg whites. Now eggz come from the chicken or hen. Not only are eggz aborted fetus' they consist of chicken shit and other wastes. So not only are you still eatin' chicken, you eatin' chicken shit! So much for talkin' it... Most "vegetarian" processed foodz contain high amounts of salt; a known deadly assasin to the Afrikan diet. Also you will find a lot of ingredients that end with '–ose', which is nothin' but refined sucrose, mistakenly called sugar. Sugar is THE most deadliest substance known to man, yeah, more lethal and addictive than crack cocaine. Don't believe me? Picture how the world would be like if "sugar" was illegal. Sugar is everywhere and in everything. We all are so addicted to we don't even realize and that's because we can satisfy the graving by eatin' some candy, gum, or in this case, a veggie burger. If you want good health and became/becoming a vegan or vegetarian because you want to relinquish your diet of decayed flesh (meat) and liquidz (milk, eggz, etc), and sugar (including brown sugar, corn syrup and molasses), the best thing for you to do is study ingredients and what they actually are...you find this will better equip you the next tyme someone offerz you a veggie burger! If you disregard this, you might as well get a BigMac!
